As I rock in a cradle of sunbeams
Enveloped in womb-warmth and safe,
My thoughts drift away into daydreams
Like the wanderings of a lost waif,
My green gardens change into snowbanks,
Youth on Flexible Flyer glides by,
Rays of sunshine dance through the snowflakes
As they float from the bright azure sky,
The snowflakes emanate rainbows
That pepper the blanket below
And sprinkle kaliedoscope patterns
Of beauty upon the white snow,
The swirling of myriad colors
With crimson and orange and blue,
Evolve into beautiful ringlets
Of a glorious, bright golden hue,
They fly through the air as the traveler
Laughs and archs her pendulum way
Through childhood time, and her laughter
Keeps cadence in time with her sway,
The laughter is suddenly silenced
By the resounding slam of a door,
I start, for my reverie's ended,
My garden is emerald once more.
