High state taxes
Editor:
State regulators recently approved four power generator projects that will cost $350 million. These projects are for new power plants in Middletown, Stamford and Waterbury. Were Reps. Donovan and Gaffey asleep-at-the-wheel, or absent, when this project was approved? This would have been the perfect opportunity to include Meriden’s own “Jewel in the Hills” — our idle, incomplete power plant.
The Democrats have enough votes to override any veto, but it appears they are more interested in trying to discredit a popular governor then to pass legislation that a majority of people wish for and support. This is another example of our leaders’ “efficiency.” Is it any wonder that Connecticut leads the nation with its high tax rate?
