Two rivers beginning miles apart
drift through life's landscape
from quiet source. They start
an uncharted journey of twists and turns,
o're rocky shoals and rapids white,
through sylvan glens with feathery ferns,
under starlit hood and crying clouds
that acquiesce to skys of blue.
Past stately trees in mossy shrouds
and into deep, quiet pools of green.
As if by poles attracted, they flow,
converging to consummate their solitary plight,
and blend until as one they go,
with greater strength and purpose and pride,
on to meet their destiny. They mingle and travel,
forever bound, toward the ocean and the tide
of those who traversed the course before.
Forever in paradise to reside.

I enjoyed following the calm and, at times, turbulent, flow of the converging rivers over the various kinds of terrain. Their meeting was in the stars, then to heaven they went (hopefully). The poem is lyrical and delightful, and I love the imagery.
