Need Info On Past Principal

We are a group of very concerned parents in Rocky Hill. We, unfortunately, inherited Principal Audrey Boutaugh. Our Elementary school, our children and our teachers are suffering because of this woman! We heard that Meriden had the same problems and we need to hear from you.. we need all the info on her that we can get before we go to The Board on Sept 20th with a vote of No Confidence in the Principal.

Do a search for her under the archives section of the Record Journal - there was controversy but I don't remember the specifics. It did hit the newspapers here though. First do a google search for her name - maybe you can hit the article that way for free. The Record Journal now charges for archives. You can use a credit card.

From my understanding, she also hired a bunch of her friends from Meriden also. Some she apparently already talked/interviewed with before the official interviews began. So who knows what good teachers were passed up on. You walk into school and you can feel the negativity. It's like walking into a morgue or something. I haven't seen any teacher smile since Audrey has been Principle. How could the BOE hire her knowing the teachers signed a petition wanting her out? I guess Meriden told her to resign or be fired, so she resigned. The Superintendent likes her I believe so be prepared. Don't be surprised if they are in meetings all next week with her figuring out some kind of defense. Good luck you'll need it.

I worked with Audrey in the past and found her to be very helpful to every teacher working for her. She was a principal that could support you and assist you. The new principal that took over in Meriden in no way supports her staff. Don't believe me, look at how many new teachers there are at Israel Putnam Elementary School. Flocks of excellent teachers are leaving. Did Meriden look at her record before they took her? She was also asked to leave the town she was working in before. As for the teachers that Audrey hired from Meriden. I know at least one of them and can say that she is wonderful. She is knowledgeable in all areas of the curriculum, she is dedicated, patient and kind. I think that you need to be in the schools seeing what is happening before you can say anything.

Why would you come here? If want all the facts, they all won't be found here. You are going to have to work to get them. This is a place where fractions of truth are wrapped in opinion to serve an argument on one side of an issue or another. (I do it myself) Why don't you go and talk to her about your specific problems?
