This should be an interesting topic for discussion.
It seems that many people are upset at the fact the iPhone has come down in price by about $200.
Where have they been for the past few decades? Every time an new technology hits the market people who "gotta have it now" are upset when the price goes down after a while. Remember the Beta Max that 'everybody' just hadda have? Flat screen and Hi Def TV's?
They seem to forget that Steve Jobs and Apple are in business to make money. Yes, that's why people go into business in the first place. Apple is not a non-profit orginization it's supposed to be profitable otherwise why bother?
Steve Jobs was more than reasonable to allow a $100 rebate to the crybabies who felt they were "used"!
The reason Jobs lowered the price of the iPhone was that it was not selling as well as predicted. Smart shoppers know that if you wait long enough, the price will come down.
So in my opinion, if you couldn't wait, and you wanted to be the first one on the block to have the latest and 'greatest' technology, suck it up and pay the price and stop crying!

Reminds me of watching the $15,000.00 bids going off on Ebay for the Playstation 3. Who needed it that bad that quick?

:D I have a cell phone... Had it for a few years. It dosen't take pictures and if I want to know where I am, I just look around... No GPS either.
Last time I used it I called my dad while sitting in my kayak in the Thimble Islands.... Guess I got no freinds I need to be connected to 24 /7...
FWIW... my home phones are connected to the wall... LOL!
Still a dinosaur!

Remember what a microwave cost? They came out in the 60s and they were so expensive only the very wealthy would have one. Then they become popular in the late 70s and 80s. Today you can get a nice 2 cu ft. model for around $200. Or an average 1 cu ft model for around $100.

Same with cell phone when they first came out. They were really car phones back then and they bolted into your car. Paid $600 for mine. Now you can get a Blackberry Curve for $100.

Computers are the same way. You can get a nice complete system today for about $1000 or less. Years ago you would have had to spend $3000 for the same thing if they even made it.

But not so with cars for some reason. At least I don't think so. Seems cars get more expensive and you get less car.
