The same day that Don Imus gets a 20 million dollar settlement,
one of the girls on the team that he " ruined " jumps him for $$$
Sad... from victim.... to ambulance chaser. No class there.
Bringing this action against Imus will do more to connect her with
the event than would have if she had left it alone.
The sad thing is that Imus will most likely have to pay to move on
from this crap.
Funny I don't recall seeing 50 Cent... Puff Daddy...or any other
Rapper that STILL use that gutter language, brought into court.
Better to sue an old white guy than one of their own.
On the other hand... in another upcoming legal battle... you have a
Mine owner claiming that an Earthquake caved in his mine. I said
from day one... that he was ONLY saying this to avert what he knew
was coming... a half a dozen wrongfull death law suits. Retreat mining
caused thoss deaths... and that owner should be put in prison.
Ok... I'm done

I thought about her court case a bit yesterday and decided he probably should fork over some dough. It was embarrassing to the whole team I'm sure the way they were herded in front of the press and barraged. She will have to be a saint in real life to win, though, someone who has kept herself removed from the club scene, etc. Can't enjoy offensive lyrics on one hand and cry about emotional damage on the other. A bigger gripe to me was who WFAN replaced IMUS with - Boomer and a New Jersey DJ with a record of being very offensive.
That mine owner is interesting, isn't he? Reminds me of this old black and white movie - a down and out alcoholic reporter happens on to a similar mine scene in which a miner is trapped and there's no way the rescue is going to be done in time to save him. But this reporter sees his big scoop and makes it a huge, blow by blow story in which there will be a dramatic rescue. Instead, there is only a dramatic letdown for huge crowds and the miner dies. Can't remember if the reporter kills himself at the end.

Hello...
And where does it end ? { he probably should fork over some dough.}
Should he be sued by all the girls ... the coaches... the WNBA ?
IF I had just once... seen a " woman of color " find a lawyer and sue
ANY member of the black community who to this very moment STILL
pumps out lyric after lyric of rap "music" that contains a hell of a lot more
offensive crap than Imus ever spoke in his entire life... then I'd support
any woman that was truely offended or damaged by WORDS spoken.
It's a joke... in my opinion.
PS... CNN...FOX.... MSNBC.... all carried a segnment on what Imus said...
ane EVERY one quoted word for word what Imus said. WTF is that ????
Can THEY be sued for further spreading these viscious and hateful words...
Like I said... it's a joke... with a pay day for an average basketball player
who will make more money in her settlement than she would ever have made
in her " career "
This young girls case ranks up there with the one that cried rape
in the Duke case. SAD

Its a callous world out there and we ourselves have to put up with things people say without suing this and that.
Unless Imus mentioned her name specifically, then the suit is without merit. I suggest he settle and make a donation to the schools athletic dept. and put this thing to rest.
Ive had to put up with much worse than this girl can dream of and carry on with life and look to the future. I suggest this girl do the same.
PS
Im not up on terms but I thought Imus was complimenting them as saying they are a bad a&& team who have a lot of fight in them.

Hello...
The mine owner ( Bill Murry) is one sad Republican. His past dealings
with Mine safety border on criminal.
I knew the moment that he said that it was NOT retreat mining... but an
earthquake that brought down his mine, that he was lying. The first thing
a Manager / Owner does... is shift the blame to avoid litigation. He did that
and second... deny / refuse to answer questions that point to your guilt.
He did that too. ( Stragedy taken from the Repubilcan Handbook ? )
Then I SAW him interrupt an interview to interject his position that 12
Miners requesting to be... relocated ... was NOT an indication that the
Mine rescue attempts were dangerous. Does this guy think that people
watching this tragedy are brain dead?
Again... I said to my wife that this was NOT a good sign... and then
the cave became...active... and add 3 more to the dead...possibly one
more in Intensive care. Sad.
Ok... I'm rambling. sorry
Tough times at work. Cytec's "Vision" for the future is Automation...and
it begins with layoffs. Once again... Management fails us.
