Hello...

Maybe it's just me but tightening up existing laws is just the " political " reaction to any event that sparks fear and concern.

Look at Illegal Immigration... will tightening up the existing laws slow the
invasion... NO...not with politicians handing out Identity Cards to them.

Drugs... any effect on illegal drugs following changes in the laws...no.

Guns...lol If any " liberals" attempt to tighten existing laws concerning
handguns and automatic weapons... we all know what the NRA says.
BUT... has tightening up existing laws made any progress on mass
shootings...NO

The list can go on and on.... Change or tighten a law... sounds good...
then it's change the subject.

Waste of time.

Tell me that ANY change in existing law will stop home invasions....

You see my point.

In closing... people with NO criminal pasts are just as likely to break
the law than ones with a multible list. Just look at Tim McVeighs
past record... what then... a ONE strike your out ? his one strike
will never be forgotten.

Just an observation, any automatic firearms are regulated by the Federal government and I can only think of one instance in the last 10 years where an automatic weapon was used in a crime.

Connecticut has it's own Assault Weapons ban which is a joke, it bans firearms based on cosmetics. Connecticut also has on the books a law which says that if you are found in possession of a pistol or handgun without a permit it is a mandatory one year jail sentence yet no one has ever been charged with this.

We have the Patriot Act taking away our liberties one by one, we don't need any more new laws we need to enforce the ones we have.

There will always be some idiots that will use firearms incorrectly just as there are idiots out there that drive drunk, steal for drugs etc.
