;) Sorry MLC but this is a more currant eVENT... :o
I hope that I get to watch the best part of C-Span.com to see where the ''ILLEGAL'S'' legislation is going. I feel for the 100 families in New Haven this week that got CAUGHT-up in a INS/ICE crackdown [1 of 100's this month in these United States] But , Warraents were served and the U.S. Americans need a solution, Not new slaves/New working poor [like The Africans , The Irish , the Jews , the Hungarians , The Italians , , the Puerto Ricans, Haitians,Cubans nor Pakistanies of PAST, or NEW Laws. { Note: no Canadians but ALL by SEA ! Hire the Drug-Lord Prisoners to build the Rio Grande FENCE , But No Amnesty to Law breakers ! } [DAMN ! They're gonna lock me up in a NY second if I try to work in Mexico before spending money for 3 years first ] Still, all the Ill. Latins flowing here are draining our resources and banks - sending MONEY to families back home. Fix the Freakin' Problem Mr. Dubya !

What part of illegal don't you understand ? I ask this question of all the politicions, local, state and national.
We do not need any new laws, We need to seal all our borders, north, east, west and south. Then we must register all undocumented people in the country.
It is a myth that they do the jobs that we won't do. They do the jobs for less! Which is what this is all about.
Write, call or e-mail your reps. to stop protecting the companies that want this cheap labor and start acting on our behalf.
If you are undocumented you should not receive free education, social security, health care or any service the rest of us must pay for.
Once documented you then must pay the same taxes we do.
I've heard estimates of 10 to 15,000,000 illegals (theres that word again),are in the USA. Any illegal found and not registered must be deported along with any family they brought with them.

Global Economy since 1986-Part Deux

So the Amnesty went fairly well in the late 80's and a few Stone masons couldn't compete with illegal-cheap labor by unscrupulous employers that under bid any job that was titled ' Work that Americans wouldn't do ' Then we Outsourced and then , not only people but products... We can buy a name brand laptop for 800 US$ and China labor & manufacturer get's 100 US$... Cool, Sweet, I can live with that ! Three or more corp.s get profit, business now is better than going to WaR.
Starving Chinese in the 60's... Prosperous now in the 21 st century. But, my kids need a profession to fly the coop . $100,000 per college education or join the TRADES or America's Finest. [trades = plumber electric roofer builder ,landscaper] wait ! those vocations are HERE ! Why are we gettin' ripped off by businesses that hire UNDOCUMENTED labor ? Maybe we have seen the enemy, and he is US !
Chapter II to follow as I sort this out [ Hey ! I'm not a Rocket Scientist ]

I try to approach "divisive" issues from a stance of where's the common ground. Let's face it; people don't get too far along in "discussions" when things get heated. They tend to walk away or pop each other. Anyways, I think the common ground here is an absolute disgust with our country's failure to have border security. All that money and manpower spent on Iraq! We can barge in all over the world and tell people how to govern themselves yet we can't ensure who comes into our country. Lately we're good for suspending little kids for bringing a plastic knife to school to cut up cookies but the big stuff, like Hurricane Katrina, if just too hard. We're incompetent; my high school ancient history teacher scared me good in the 70's with comparisons of the U.S. to the fall of the Roman Empire. T.V gets more and more like the colisseum every day.

Be afraid, very afraid. Your local, state and federal government are all working againts your wishes.
We want property tax relief and they raise our taxes.
We ask for help at the gas pump and they raise the profit
tax and mandate higer ethenol amounts so the price of gas goes up again next week.
We say NO to immigration reform and they revieve the debate in Congress and will shove this down our throut.
We ask that the border be sealed and they build a ten mile section for photo ops.
We ask that The education system be revamped and they throw more billions into the failing programs in order to pay higher salaries.
Local, state and federal government are all running on borrowed money,ie bonds and any surplus they announce is funny money.
For the last twenty years I have voted anti incumbent, as I believe in one term limits and no full time pols.
The far left is working toward a one world government step by step and could care less what you want becouse they know you will keep electing the same group into office.
Be afraid, very afraid!

We should all learn from History [and the roman empire] even DUBYA but we as americans are too liberal. Maybe even when ships of IMMIGRANTS arrived here to Ellis Is. ... But jumping land boarders to get ditch-digger jobs and commandeering jets to do mass-destruction... that SHOULD draw the line! In the [40's] Fourties, we distributed 'ALIEN ID Cards' and even if you didn't speak good English [ Italians, Hungarians,Swedes, etc],or officially became an American Citizen, You were accountable for your presence HERE, unlike today. [and 'With-out-Papers' and T-O-N-Y made them learn English [[not our OFFICIAL Language yet]] Inglesia that is .... learning here in the 21st century. And too your last point... jailing a third grader for 'poppin' a girl's BUTT is goin' too darned far in my book ! Enforce the old laws !
