You must have some great memories. I remember dressing my children in their pj's and they would be so excited. They always fell asleep sometimes before the movie even started.

The town really did not want the drive-in to stay, but they could not put condos in that space for some reason. Too bad they did not figure that out. Instead they tear down the concession stand and one of the screens and then(8 years later)decide to show movies once again. Southington is notorious for making bad and stupid decisions.

but lets be glad the town has realized their ways and now we have a drive-in again. the concession stand really didn't have that great of food anyway and its cheaper to bring your own.

The food always looked so good during intermission, the popcorn popping, hotdogs, pizza, and cold soda. We always brought our own snacks too. Wonder what will be playing next I think I have seen my share of ET.

Hello...'

Will you ever forget those commercials between movies ... and the clock
that displayed how much time was left before the next film ? I wonder if
they are still around ( saved ) in a safe form ( DVD )

I remember sitting in lawn chairs in front of the car ( wonder what my
parents were doing inside of the car ??? )

I remember the playground ( Berlin Drive In ) ... that spinning thing.

I remember seeing Brigett Bardot for the first time ( looking over the
front seat when I was suppose to be " sleeping ". ( I know ... I killed
the spelling of her name )

I even recall my Father pulling away and forgetting to take the speaker
from the window ... oops !!!

As a teenager .. I can't really say in here what my memories were ...lol :D

as long as YOU still remember Bill, thats all that counts.

do you remember the windshield umbrellas that you put in the rain gutters of your car so the windshield would stay clear when it rained at the drive-in?

Hello...

I don't believe I recall those things ?

Were they used in the Berlin and Pike Drive In's ?

My first date with my girlfriend (now my wife) was at the Pike Drive-In, back in '65.
I remember there was one over in Plainville and you could hear the stock car races going on while watching the movie!
We went to almost all of the area drive-in's but most often to Southington and North Haven. The Berlin even had some 'racy' movies if you wanted to 'jump start' the evening!
Did anybody ever smuggle in a couple of friends in the trunk?
Couldn't be done today as the trunks can barely hold a spare tire!
'55 Chevy's had an adequate trunk for the purpose.
Park in the back row, and unload after checking things out!
Good times....good times!:)
