Does anybody besides me have an issue with all the money spent on NASA?
Imagine where all that money could go? Health care, settling our deficit? Not to mention the loss of life. I'm not one who thinks that to go into space is crazy...or to do what ever you may dream to do. But have'nt we spent enough money.
It seems to me they go up, they look around, then come back to earth.
A friend told me that very important life saving drugs are made up in space. Ofcourse I'm sure these drugs are very important. that nobody but the wealthiest of people can afford. Well we could always take a trip to Canada and buy those same drugs for a quarter of the U.S. price.
Can anyone tell me....what are we doing in space, beside leaving junk?

I wonder what the total amount will be for the current military campaigns. I believe that any more money going to Iraq should go to give our troops the best equipment that is there. Iraq can rebuild its infrastructure off its oil revenues.

My vote is to keep the NASA programs going ..

Whats to say... their going to dump BILLIONS of taxpayer money
into a Moon Base project. For WHAT?

We have been their before. Nothing has changed. It's desolate!

So...

There is NO money for Social Security... but frigging BILLIONS
to WASTE on the Moon... and the wars... and free hand outs
for ILLEGAL immigrants and aid for people in poverty OUTSIDE of
the USA.

I agree we could use the NASA money towards other things such as a better health care system, lower taxes, education, etc, etc. You could however say that about many programs that we spend money on. Look at the money given towards Halliburton for doing hardly anything. That company is robbing this country with the help of our politicians.
Look at the money being spent on the Star Wars missile program. Almost a trillion dollars. The system is inefficient and is fueling another arms race with Russia and China.
Look at the many wasteful ways the government spends money.
Before cutting Nasa, I say address other areas first.
