None of these taxes existed 100 years ago, And the USA was the most prosperous in the world. There was no national debt and we had the largest middle class in the world.
What happened???
Maybe I should send this to our Meriden leaders as a good history lesson.

I do remember skating from Dec. to Feb. a couple of years.
We always had a bonfire with wood supplied by the town (New Britain).
I remember the ice harvest at ponds in the Shuttle Meadow area where the ice was sometimes 18" thick or more.
I remember trudging to school in the snow(no schoolbuses then) and it was uphill both ways.I remember taking a sled up to Burrit st. and sliding all the way to Washington Jr. High where the Janitor would store our sleds until we reclaimed them after classes.
Imagine doing that now.

I'm slow but I still learn.... just got enlightened from a C-Span Liberal program that the Baby-Boomers were Bam-boozelled by Regan in the 80's,,, to pay for our parents SS and our own [ for this future soon coming]. Yet, the deal was to just take this GOV'T money to pay the Gov't with cheap money [ and G.W. has made it worse these past years]. Why can't War-mongerz, bleading-heart liberals and the Rich/C.E.O.s/ Wall street robber-barons' pay the Social Security System more than a measley 3 % ! wouldn't you like a kitty like that?!?!?! just Keep It Simple Stupid { KISS}:eek:
