Look at the new problems CO2 and gas leaks. What a waste should just level it and turn into a waste treatment facility. That would help with the tax base. It's not like it would ruin any neighborhoods I mean it's right on route 10 and that's just a permanent traffic jam with nothing but strip malls lining it, come a Dollar store? At least put in a V.I.P. or Victoria Secrets.

You're kidding right - More people use the Town Pool than people who are hooked up to the public water supply? Or almost 10 times as many residents who use the Senior Center - which by the way-receives almost the same subsidy as the Town Pool! Why would you take away a valuable asset that everyone in town can use and brings revenue from outside of town? That a town the size and caliber of Cheshire can't manage to run a year round aquatic facility is an embarassment. I'm counting on the new town council to make sure it becomes the first class YEAR ROUND aquatic facility that the town residents deserve?

Come on you got COCO Keys right over the border in beautiful Waterbury, they even got a water slide. Why does Cheshire need to waste the money it's just a couple of miles? I hear people from Waterbury are friendly.

Do they even have beauty pagents or fashion shows for bikinis at the pool I mean something that would make the tax outlay worthwhile?

I mean aren't we suppose to be going green just think of the waste of energy to keep the pool going.

And as far as the seniors go the town should spend as much on them as they do on kids for education. I mean the seniors deserve it.

Besides which I'm on well water none of them mind altering chemicals that the government puts in the city water that makes all of you sheep go baa baa the government is gooood for me.

Enjoy the day. With luck the Republicans will straighten out the budget.

Republicans always talk tough about cutting the budget, but somehow they never do. They do lower taxes though while continuing to spend like drunken sailors, crerating a huge mess that they conveniently blame on someone else.

Oh Please all the democrats want is a nanny government with no individual freedom. So all they do is tax the middle class and give the money to those on welfare so the welfare people will keep electing the democrats so welfare people can keep getting raises while the democrats break the backs of hard working middle class people.

It is always the Democrats fault according to Jim. Republicans were in control for years and had nothing to do with breaking the middle class. Now that's funny.

They said that Clinton would take away our guns ... he didn't

They said they ( Republicans ) would return prayer to Schools .. they didn't.

They all say a lot... but do very little. :o

Not true in all case. Look at Joe Lieberman. By single handedly derailing health care reform he has condemned to death several thousand (estimated 45,000 per year) uninsured Americans. Heckofajob, Joe. Way to go, Senator from Aetna. Now lets go start a war with another Arab country and ignore some more Israeli atrocities.

I’m surprised you have such a high opinion of Joe Liebermann, flatrat. In reality he couldn’t do it alone. He needed the help of many other senators who thought the current version of health care reform was dopey. And I have no idea why anybody would care if the Israelis and Arabs duke it out.

No Joe912, those other Senators were bought and paid for, just like Lieberman, and did exactly what the insurance companies wanted them to do. Just look and see. The ones who voted against health reform are the ones who accept the most money from all the special interests. These people who vote time and time again against what is best for the people are just plain sick and we, as a people, continue to let them get away with it. My blood has been boiling over what has happened in the past couple days with the Senate, Lieberman and health care and I hope that I am not alone in my disgust.

Show me in the US Constitution where health care is a RIGHT.

This is one of the few times I agree with the senator from israel Lie-berman.

No one doubts or disagrees that health care change is needed but it needs to be done based on facts not emotion.

Why did our politicians vote to make it illegal for Americans to buy their drugs made by the same companies for foriegn countries in the foriegn countries at vastly reduced prices?
That would help greatly with health care, being able to buy the exact same medicine from a foriegn country for $10 that our politicians allow the drug company to charge Americans $100 plus. Where is any outrage over that.

The American government does not care for Americans.

An inalienable right, is one that by definition is not delineated in the constitution. It is a basic human right.

As opposed to what we have now in America, which is the lunatic fringe right

You left Obama off your "bought and paid for" list.

Oh sorry, yeah, he is also not one of my favorite people in Washington either. So Joe, I can say that the Democrats and Obama have really failed the people who put them into power. I am extremely disappointed with them. I can say that I am disappointed in the people I voted for, but many Republicans will rarely speak unfavorably about the people they voted for. According to you guys Republican politicians can do no wrong. You guys never talked about the debt until Obama moved into the White House but now that is all we hear. Funny how we can fund all these wars, but can't ever seem to find the money to help people who can't get health care through their jobs. God help me, but I would just like to see the tables turned and see how some of the people, who are trying to derail health care, would feel if they did not have that security of a health care policy. I have a feeling that their attitude would quickly change. Most people who are against health care have insurance;therefore, how can any of these people know what is like to go without. Who are they to decide that people should or should not have the same access to care?
