It seems that Hollywood has run out of new ideas for movies.
All they seem to be able to do is blow up stuff and use foul language and do poor remakes of much better movies.
I do a lot of reading and have thought while doing so, 'this would make a good movie'.
If some of the producers would take the time to read a couple of novels they would find a wealth of new material for the industry.
For example: I recently read a Louis LaMour novel titled 'Last of the Breed'. Not a western as you might think, but an action packed story with all the stuff Hollywood likes to produce. Not only that, but it also included a PLOT! Of all things!
It would be interesting to see if any fellow readers out there feel the same.

I totally agree with you! My husband & I get all of our movies on Netflix, and I would say that 80% of them are "Indie" movies - we love a good story and good characters, and stuff blowing up isn't all that exciting to us. (Too old?) I guess Hollywood has to use someone else's idea & remake it since it costs so much to produce a movie nowadays. You really have to spell things out for people now, and that doesn't work in a "good" movie (ex. "Psycho" with the bloody water going down the drain). People don't want to think when they watch a movie now; they want to be "entertained!"
Thank goodness for Nexflix! We can still find movies that have substance & something to say...without the "blowing up" part!
;-)
