This letter appeared in Sunday's editorial section; it looks like someone has figured out what this year's election in Wallingford is really all about:
Editor:
This year’s election in Wallingford promises to be the most boring in history. There are no controversial issues, there is minimal differentiation between the parties, the Democrats can’t even field a mayoral candidate, and no one wants to talk about the tax burden for which both parties are responsible.
Because both parties are running more candidates than can actually be elected, about the only excitement will be watching the candidates sabotage each other in order to get elected. The election will be based on name recognition only. Democracy in action? I don’t think so; democracy infers differentiated parties and candidates.
