Some things are the same no matter where you are and one truth is that small, idyllic towns always have secrets. This small slice of heaven has a bigger secret than most. This black, British comedy really delivers on the laughs. If you're a fan of BBC America, and you pick up and understand the parody of British life, you will laugh all the harder. Picture Masterpiece Theater meets Lethal Weapon. A staid, by-the-book London police officer gets unwillingly transferred to a small, rural village. There he meets an assortment of odd characters that can only be found and appreciated in a small town. This is a buddy cop movie that is mixed up with a murder mystery, frosted with a liberal dose of good humor, and combined with an old WWII sea mine that really delivers explosive laughter. We recommend pouring a spot of tea, drinking it pinkies up (of course!) and toddling down to your nearest theater for a really enjoyable dose of laughter brought to you from across the pond.
