I went to the new Yankee Stadium this past weekend. I thought the Stadium was very nice. The seats are a little wider and padded which makes them more comfortable. They are made out of foam and plastic though which causes them to get very hot when the sun hits them. Their are more bathrooms which means less wait time for that. Their are also more concessions stands which means the lines move quicker, but the prices are ridiculous. Some examples. Parking, $19. Beer in a bottle, $9. Soda (paper cup), and water, $5. Ice cream with a Yankees helmet, $6.50. You get the picture. You're allowed to bring in outside food as long as it's in a clear bag, so go on a food run before the Stadium and bring it with you. Water is allowed in if it's unopened. Leave your coolers and backpacks in the car.
The new scoreboards are great. The advertising is everywhere and all around the scoreboards, but I liked the new screens.
If you sit anywhere behind home plate you can see the entire field. If you sit on the side of the field, you can't see the corner on that side, (unless you have field seats).
Over all, I liked the new Stadium. The high prices will keep me to 1 visit a year however.

Yep, I went to the new Stadium for the first time, myself. I had been going to see the Yankees since the early 60's. Couldn't believe how much room there is to move around behind the seating sections. Also, loved seeing the photos of Yankee history depicted decade by decade. If you stand clear of the aisles and an arms-length away from the back row, the ushers will let you stand and watch the game. Though this was an impressive, clean park, I wasn't overly impressed. Yankee Stadium is just a modern ballpark surrounded by a fake wall designed like the original architecture of the old Stadium. Now I can see why fans might say the new stadium doesn't hold the crowd noise as the old park did.

What really threw me for a loop... I took the train from Greenwich and when I arrived at Yankee Stadium, there at the end of the train platform, everyone could look down into the 10 acre sand pit where the old Stadium once stood. Everyone was awestruck; complete silence and disbelief. :(

ARod hit the winning homer to preserve CC's pitching effort. Mariano made easy work in the top of the 9th. The Yankees win.......Thhheeeeeee Yankees Win.
