Hello everyone,
For those of you that might or might not already know, I am the Director for the Connecticut Chapter of Wish Upon A Hero and I wanted to send everyone this quick note to remind you that there is the LIVE Wish Auction Sunday April 5th - 9pm EST at http://wishuponahero.com/wishtv/
You can review all of the current items listed at http://ourwishauctions.com/
I also have these same details posted over on my own blog - http://jasonzandri.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!AA559A45099B2EBD!5463.entry
Each of the auction items has been donated by different individuals for the benefit of a specific chapter and I have donated the following to benefit the Connecticut Chapter:
4 day stay at Star Island Resort 5000 Avenue of the Stars Kissimmee FL 34746 over the Memorial Day weekend (total period - check in Friday May 22, 2009 4PM with a check out of Tuesday May 26, 2009 10AM)
The value of the stay over the Memorial Day Holiday is $500.00
http://www.star-island.com/
This stay at Star Island in Florida is over the Memorial Day weekend and I am hoping we will get many bids to bolster our Chapter but the best part is that the chapter is going to receive triple funding of the winning bid.
The Chapter will get the winning bid amount whatever that ends up being.
In addition to that I am personally going to cash match that bid dollar for dollar up to $500.00. So as an example, if the winning bidder bids $350.00 and that is the winning bid for the stay I am going to personally donate $350.00 to the Connecticut Chapter.
My employer, Microsoft Corporation, currently allows us to request matching funds dollar for dollar for our own donations to approved 501 (C) 3 charities so that is what I am going to do for my cash donation amount after the auction ends. So in the above example that would be an additional $350.00 in the foundation’s coffers on top of the winning bid and on top of my cash match. All total in my example that would be $1,050.00 for the Connecticut Chapter.
I’d love us to go even higher than my example but we’ll just have to see how it goes.
Hope you can join us Sunday at 9PM. In the event there’s a lot of internet traffic to the auction site and extra load on the servers I would suggest trying to log in a few minutes early.
If anyone has any questions for me in the meantime please let me know.
See you online Sunday evening.
Jason Zandri
