Ive recently heard that plans may be going forward in regards to the development of Brownfields site "factory H" in town. I'm interested in what is being proposed for this site and when work is actually supposed to be started. I am having some trouble finding this info however and wanted to see if anyone else new anything about what is being proposed? If not, any idea how one can find more info on this, the Meriden website seems to have limited info. THanks for any feedback.

Found this on this on the city site.
Meriden's Blight and Brownfields Committee is committed to involving community residents and stakeholders in all phases of brownfield cleanup and redevelopment. The Committee meets monthly to discuss cleaning up brownfields and reducing blighted properties in the city. A community meeting was held on November 9, 2005 at Immanuel Lutheran Church to share information about Meriden's brownfields efforts and to receive input from community residents and business owners. Additional meetings were held on April 4, 2006 and May 6, 2006 to discuss and come up with reuse plans for the Factory H site on Cooper Street. Summaries regarding these community meetings will soon be posted on this website.

It has only been a year and no update. They do have some pictures of some design ideas for reusing the space but like everthing else in this city it takes time unless they are reassessing your property :)
At least when Joe Marnin was Mayor, he wanted the Midstate to set money aside for the demolition of the Veterans Hospital on Cook Ave if they couldn't find a suitable use for it. Are they waiting for that building to become like the Factory H one before they act?
