JJ's restaurant on rte 5 has been there for nearly 35 years. Now, it's apparently closed for good. Doubt that it's moving up to murdin to be a part of the burgeoning restaurant district downtown....

Just part of the plan of chain restaurants to put the locals out of business. Great to see that Wallingford supports small businesses by flooding Rt. 5 with way too many places to eat. The economy and the population can't support all this.

Speaking of Meriden, I hear Jacoby's is also closing....

but there's a dunkin donut at every corner

wouldn'tbe surprised- there is illness involved. aside from slow business.

I went to JJ's two weeks before Christmas and purchased a gift certificate for a co-worker. The owner was the one that sold me the gift certificate. I am really angry that he still sold me that gift certificate having the possibly that he might have to close his doors within the few weeks that followed. If he was not sure that he would be able to stay open he should not have sold gift certificates. Basically I gave the man $25.:mad:
