Anybody in town use Angel food?
People can buy boxes of food for $30 and there are no income restrictions.
Churches distribute the food, and there aren't any in Cheshire that do it, but there are a couple in the surrounding towns.

I love Angel food cake, good stuff.
Seriously, I've never bought Angel food but my wife and son have volunteered to help pack the boxes that are distributed.

I'm wondering what the quality of the food is like - I've heard conflicting reports.
I'm doing a story on it and am interested in talking to people who buy the food or who help with the program.
If your family is interested in talking about it, my number at the R-J is 203-317-2230

I have been working with angelfood through my church for the last 6 months or so. The quality of the food is very good. The only time I heard a complaint which was within my own family is that the breaded chicken needed to be cooked in oil to get it to brown. This is an excellent way to help a struggling budget and it doesn't matter what your income or status. It is also a wonderful way to bless someone new to your neighborhood or someone that you know is having a hard time. I enjoy my time that I spend greeting people and helping the community. My church has set up a place for coffee and refreshments and we invite them to have prayer if they would like. At first not many wanted to be prayed for but as the same people return each month we are developing a bond and helping to share God's love as well.
My Church does their delivery at Wheat Facility in West Haven, but
Church on the Rock in New Haven and Good New Christian Center in Wallingford are 2 other locations as well. If anyone would like to see the current menu go to www.angelfoodministries.com. They may have a directory of locations of other churches that participate. :)
