Well, it looks like this site was off to a good start, however, I haven't seen that many posts; I guess everyone is shopping.

I hope they dont spend to much, they're going to need the funds to pay their taxes.

Speaking of taxes, the only way to stop the politicians from spending, is to vote them out of office; the problem with that, is who ever replaces them, will just end up doing the same.

Anyone disagree?

Between the price of electricity and the amount of dollars we're expected to cough up for the BOE, you're right - we'd better not do any shopping!

I'm getting alarmed at the higher & higher price of public education in this country. We're turning out students who can't read or write, and have no clue about geography or history. If public education was in the private sector, you'd be fired for doing such a lousy job! Also, most of the dollars are going into fatter paychecks for the teachers...

also, why do we have to have teacher in-service days? Don;t they have all summer to do that stuff????

Thank you for letting me vent!

I think a community message board is great idea.

I'd like to see this take off.

First of all, I agree that who ever gets voted into office is as bad as the one that was voted out! Why? ( As a co-worker said to me, ' by the time a person gets elected they owe so many favors that they have been corrupted'.)
Now, Stellas Mom, the reason for high education cost is not teacher's salaries ( for the most part ). It's retirement funds. If, as you said, it was run like a business, there wouldn't be all these ' bennies '. Why? It would go bankrupted. Of couse, it's not run like a busines and has an everlasting money supply. Why can't it be changed? Federal, State and Local laws!
