Within 30 days the Town Council will appoint a Charter Revision Commitee after more than 10 pct of voters signed a petition and the Town Clerk certified the signitures.
Sounds good. Maybe the committee can consider a town council/mayor government. Ours is archaic. Forget the Finance Board and Town Manager. Let the mayor propose a budget and the council act on it after hearings with the boards and commissions. The council can form sub-committees and liaisons to various groups to streamline their activities. After reading meeting minutes posted on the town website; it seems that Roberts Rules of Order don't are seldom used. Issues should be introduced with motions, seconded AND THEN DISCUSSED and voted on instead of rambling comment. Thus there will be accountability not finger pointing. The Council/Manager/Asst Manager/Finance Board is too cumbersome. Citizens CANNOT keep an appointed leader's feet to the fire and have any input on his/her tenure.
