Soon it will be election day and we will see how smart or stupid American voters are and what type of memory they have if any. I'm not talking about the 2 jokes that are running for president. I'm talking about how many incumbents will keep their seats, federal and state. All that's been in the news is how they've screwed the country, how they don't do their jobs how they need to be replaced. Remember it is the Democratic Congress not the Republican President who actually makes the laws. They are the ones who have kept us in Iraq, they are the ones that filled the bailout with pork and our own Senator Dodd received special favors and is one of the leaders of the pack.
Well Americans you've been screaming loud and hard for a while now. Do you just talk the talk or are you going to cowboy up and walk the walk and hand all the incumbents their walking papers? No excuses, they all go and we start fresh or just shut up with your complaints!

Dont know where you have been in the last14 years. Here is a news flash, the republicans have controlled congress since 1994. Since the election of Pres bush in 200, the repubs have controlled both congress and the white house. Democratic control of congress now is tenuous and depends on Joe Lieberman.

So with all that said, dont be blaming the dems for all of these problems. The repubs got everything they wanted, deregulation, no regulation, no oversight, no enforcement and incompetent appointment to regulatory positions. The repubs are all hypocrites. If they truly believe that the free market is the be all and end all and that this is just the market correcting itself, then no bailout or propping up of financial institutions are necessary. Remeber the pompous lectures from the repubs and their business friends when the foreclosures started.

Another flash McPain & Palin want to balance the budget by the end of their first term. Do they think we are on drugs? No pull out from Iraq, another tax cut for the rich, bailouts galore, how do they manage that?

Typical democratic response. Blame everyone else and don't even answer the main thrust of the post which was are you going to keep the incumbents in office? Care to try again?

your original statement blamed the dems for all of these problems, not the incumbents. I just wanted to correct you? I could say you original post was a typical repub response, preacvh responsibility, take none and change the subject.

As far as incumbents are concerned, didnt the famous Repub contract on america call for term limits. I guess all that noise was about limiting other peoples terms, not their own.

Maybe you could tell us what the repub led congress & presidency should have done from 2000-2006?

Have a great day.

Using the same logic that Sarah Palin uses when she announces she is exonerated on Troopergate.

The Republican campaign has been an insult to the average voter. Do they really think we are that stupid?

And yes, the Republicans have had a blank check for 8 years. So dont blame the "incumbents," blame the Republicans. An unregulated "trickle down" house of cards has tumbled.

And kudos to Krugman for winning the Nobel.
