I agree with Susan Gornall’s comments (R-J letters, 9/9) regarding the Blue Trail Range. One must ask if there is a “hidden agenda” that is yet to be revealed? The range has been there since 1945 — long before he moved to the area. If he indeed felt unsafe so close to the range, why would he build a new house closer to the range? His complaints of the noise and bullets in his house and yard are ridiculous. The sounds of gun shots are to be expected when you live close to a range.

Extensive testing (paid for by Dave Lyman) has proven that the bullets did not come from the Blue Trail Range. And the water supply? The Town of Wallingford stated that their tests have proven that the town’s water supply is safe. If DiNatale truly felt unsafe in his home and is suspicious of the town’s water supply for fear of high lead counts (which was also proven not true) why doesn’t he just move?

My guess: if the range is closed we’ll see a new housing development. Don’t let this happen; support the Lyman family and their business — Blue Trail Range.

Pam,

You are 100% right and your last line hits the nail on the head. It's all about greed and money. You can bet that if blue Trail were to close, DiNatale will be the first one in there to pee on the property to mark his territory. I gree, he should just move...... out of America!!!!

Maybe if Mr Dinatale lives in Durham he should seek to disband the Durham Fairgrounds and put his McMansion ghetto there..surely there must be some lead poisoning there!

In spite of all the publicity he has generated, there has yet to be one shred of evidence or proof that BTR generates anything but the noise of gunshots. And there are adjacent ranges that do the same thing.

He reminds me of the city slicker who bought a house next to a pig farm and then complained about the smell.

Leave our range alone!

Ide hate to see what the water supply was like in Germany or Russia after WW2 if a few stray bullets create such a problem.
