I was surprised that both vice presidential candidates did as well as they did, darn it, especially Palin. However, the Republican ticket is looking weaker overall. Biden is a good balance to Obama. We'll see.

Palin appears to be an effective public speaker and a good communicator. She has a future in politics.

Side by side with Biden, she appears to be someone who studied her lines and correctly recited them, while Biden appears to have firsthand knowledge and a true grasp of the complex world in which we interact.

He is clearly more suited to be a 'heartbeat away." The thought of her a heartbeat away scares a lot of people on both sides of the political spectrum, as well as the middle.

Its a sad standard we hold her to when the republican spinsters are declaring that she won, just because she didnt make any Couric errors.

"As for that VP talk all the time, I'll tell you, I still can't answer that question until somebody answers for me what is it exactly that the VP does every day?"
--Sarah Palin, on Larry Kudlow show, CNBC
