The Democrats will have to remove this item from the list they use to attack Palin. Obama and Biden both voted for this, but the best part is this:

"Sen. Biden and Sen. Obama voted for funding the Bridge, even when given a second chance by Sen. Tom Coburn, who proposed shifting earmark funds to Katrina relief."

lets hammer her onher STUPID idea to teach creationism in public schools.

Actually her idea was to present both sides and let the students debate the ideas. She never said to teach creationism only and present it as absolute truth, rather offer both sides and let the students decide for themselves.

And in October of 2006, the Anchorage Daily News reported that Palin said the following about creationism at a debate:

"Teach both. You know, don't be afraid of information....Healthy debate is so important and it's so valuable in our schools. I am a proponent of teaching both. And you know, I say this too as the daughter of a science teacher. Growing up with being so privileged and blessed to be given a lot of information on, on both sides of the subject -- creationism and evolution. It's been a healthy foundation for me. But don't be afraid of information and let kids debate both sides."

Of course this is a terrible idea right, I mean we can't have kids making decisions on their own.

Why would you "teach" creationism anywhere but a mythology class, along with the flat earth theories? There is no basis in fact to creationism, it defies the scientific process. Creationism should be taught in churches, not public schools. To compare creationism to science is ludicrous.

I certainly would oppose banning books on creationism in public schools, but I dont think it should be taught. American education is already falling behind the rest of the world fast enough.

This issue is not whether the bridge to nowhere is a boondoggle. The issue is that Palin is presenting herself as a reformer, who voted against the bridge to nowhere, which like so much of her image doesnt stand up to fact checking. The issue is Palin's truthfulness. Like the repeated comments that she sold the airplane on ebay. She didnt. or she fired the chef. She didnt. Or that she is fiscally responsible. She isnt. So far, Palin is all "image." When will the press get to ask her questions? (and I dont mean Charlie Gibson, who distinguished himself so much at the ABC debate, that ABC isnt getting a presidential debate)

The Bridge to Nowhere was killed by congress, not Palin. Palin was the chairman of the Ted Stevens 527 committee. Ted Stevens, now under indictment for fraud, was the Alaskan REPUBLICAN Senator friend of Palin who proposed and pushed for the Bridge to Nowhere in the first place.

Im sure we can all find all sorts of stupid stuff that Biden, Obama or Mccain voted for, because congresspeople dont even read the bills that they voted on. Probably less so with McCain, as he isnt there much.

Here is the actual link to the vote on 10/20/05 on HR 3058 on the Stevens Bridge that shows that Obama and Biden both voted against the bridge to nowhere. 38 Dems voted agaisnt, 3 in favor. 30 Republicans voted in favor, 22 against. Mccain, of course, was not even there to vote

Actually H R 3058 was the vote for the "Bridge to Nowhere" that both Biden and Obama voted for:

What they voted against was an amendment (Amdt. No. 2181) of H R 3058 the funding to rebuild the Twin Span Bridges after Katrina:

I stand corrected, Obama voted against Stevens Amdt. No. 2181; To ensure reconstruction of the Twin Spans Bridge.

So he only voted against the Stevens amendment of HR 3058, not the whole bill, which covers a lot of territory. I confess I didnt read the entire HR 3058, its too long for me to read. I have to go to work soon.

John McCain, of course, was absent from the vote on 3058.

Again, the point isnt who voted, the point is who is making the false claim of not being for pork, and who started using the bridge disingenuously as an example. Alaskans under Palin received more earmarks per capita than residents of any other state.

Try running for congress in southeast Connecticut from either party, opposing the building of another "pork" submarine. Its not gonna happen, Republican or Democrat.

lets hammer her onher STUPID idea to teach creationism in public schools.

She was asked a question and gave her opinion, never has she tried to pass a law requiring public schools to teach creationism. Can you provide some information indicating she tried to get creationism taught in public schools? Of course you can't. I've looked and I can't find anything from the state of Alaska that indicates she ever tried to do what you're implying. Did you actually do any research about this or did you just take your talking points from Huffington post and Daily Kos?

What is wrong with the Huffington Post or Kos? They both present a democratic slant. Do you prefer more "legitimate" news sources such as the Murdoch owned NY Post? The Moonie owned Washington Post? The propaganda arm of the Republican party known as Fox News? The rarely accurate dirt rag known as the Drudge Report? Michael Savage Wiener? Michelle Malkin? "Mann" Coulter?

Why does "Bluster Bill" O'reilly hate Media Matters (http://mediamatters.org/) so much, if all they do is fact check his outrageous statements?

When the Republicans complain that the NY Times has a liberal bias, it just show how far to the right they have drifted.

I too am sick of the "Christian Taliban" taking over my government. Sarah Palin is affiliated with the Alaskan Independence Party, part of a loose association of "Christian Identity" extremist and racist hate groups. Her husband was a member of AIP and she spoke at their convention. The Constitution Party, which the Southern Poverty Law Center defines as a “patriot” group, lists the AIP as its Alaska state affiliate.

Creationism belongs in church-not public school!

With Palin being a heartbeat away from a 72 YO president in poor health, we are treading on dangerous ground here. If McCain's people had vetted her properly, it wouldnt be an issue. Now they cant retreat.

And once again I reitterate, she's never tried to pass a law that I'm aware of that would establish creationism being taught in public schools.

The fact that you think the huffington post and daily kos are somehow on par with the main stream media leaves me to believe that you're a confused person. When the huffingtonpost and daily kos were running with the story, that I'm sure you ate up with great satisfaction, that Palins new child was in fact her daughters and there was a big coverup about it how many main stream news outlets were reporting that story? I'll give you a hint

none
zero
nada
zilch

Why? Because huffington and kos are so far from a credible news source that anyone with a half of brain in their head won't give them the time of day.

You still use internet explorer? Not Firefox? or Opera, or Safari? or Chrome?
How retro....

I read all sides including the right and the middle. That's how you define "well rounded." Anyone who knows me, knows that I am well rounded, especially around the waist.

Actually I use Firefox, far more pugins and useful features. Chrome is unpolished, feature poor and has security flaws. No desire to use Opera or Safari.

I like the Firefox plug ins too (especially adblock plus). I also have Opera on my desktop and have used it for years. I didnt like Safari and havent tried Chrome, although the reviews arent too good on it.
