Wal-greens will be opening a new distribution center in Windsor. What's important about this? The owner of Wal-greens has a special needs child who is autistic. Becuase of this he is concerned about the future welfare of his child, and is concerned about other special needs children. So he is going to hire 30% of his employees who are disabled (phyiscaly, mentally). He is going to offer special training to these special needs people. In His South Carolina center, he offered training to the menatlly ill on everything it takes to work. From proper socializatio to work ethic. This is going to help people get off government disability and on their own. And make a good living doing it. for more info go to the Wal-greens website. Lower taxes, more workers, higher self-esteem for the disabled! A win win situation for all. I hope Sarah Palin will start programs like this if she is to be elected. she has a downs syndrome baby.

I agree with your three cheers for Walgreens. However, my understanding is that this is a program started by Walgreens, not by any elected official, so I don't know how Sarah Palin would play into this. One would hope our elected officials would have the same interest and investment in this kind of program, whether or not they have a disabled family member. They represent all of us.
