Hello...

Connecticut seems to always go Democratic in the Presidential Elections
and Republican in the Governors races.

Will this year be any different.... or could Connecticut go Republican ?

Not that Connecticut actually decides these things..... lol

But I'd bet dollars to donuts that Ct goes for Obama. It may be close- but here's hoping that the country wakes up from the stupor of the last 8 terrible years of little george and gets with the Obama ticket

Hello...

I hope America wakes up and figures out after 8 years of George
Bush, we need a President that can actually get things done in
OUR benifit....not for his own... warped sense of personal Destiny.

Yes... Connecticut will most likely swing towards Obama... just like
they swung with " our senator " Joe Lieberman.

Get things done? What exactly has Obama "gotten done" since he's been a Senator? Please, be specific and try not to answer this question with another question.

He hasnt done that much, but he hasnt had the chance either. The Republicans have had the chance for the last 8 years and have done nothing. It was the Republican controlled congress that earned the nickname the "do nothing congress."

I for one, will take my chances, rather than "Four more years" with John McSame.

Katrina. Invasion of the wrong country. Faulty intelligence. Ignoring the warnings prior to 9/11. Fighting the 9/11 commission. Terry Schiavo. Osama Bin Laden. Torture. Suspension of Habeus Corpus. Scalia. The economy. Halliburton. Blackwater. Jack Abramoff. Tom Delay. Numerous indictments.

That quite the list of accomplishments. It certainly has been an interesitng 8 years. Are you better off now than you were when Bill Clinton was president?

It wasnt all bad. We did get two Red Sox world championships and a Giants Super Bowl during the Bush-McCain years.

I don't want the Obama ticket. I want to do away with welfare and taxing working people so those to lazy to work can have kids and sit around all day while the rest of us work. I want social security to only go to those who pay into it. Why should we work all our lives paying into social security only to have it given to people who never contributed so we can't retire. Cold yes. Heartless yes. Honest yes and I'm sure they are many more who feel this way. I'm tired of the government redistributing the wealth. I have no problem with programs that help educate people to get jobs or help those who are truly disabled. But it while it may be your right to have it kid it isn't my responsiblity to pay for it. If you can't afford it don't have it.

Why is welfare bad, but corporate welfare good? Why are we bailing out the banking industry and the mortgage industry? Why are we bankrupting America's future by charging the Iraq war? Why are we paying billions of unaudited dollars in "no bid" contracts to Halliburton, Dick Cheney's company?

I dont understand why welfare, to help a poor struggling family put food on its table is bad, but corporate welfare in the form of tax breaks to billionaires is good.

Why do people call themselves "Christian" if they are not willing to help those less fortunate than themselves?

Why do Republicans want us to have kids we cant afford, but fight against sex education, right to choice, and planned parenthood, and offer lame alternatives like "abstinence education?" Why do Republicans feel they have the right to control a woman's womb, unless its Sarah Palin's daughter's womb, at which point it becomes a "private family matter?"

1 I'm not a Christian or a member of any religion. You however have a good idea tax the churches who are anti abortion so they can pay for those kids not me or others who work. I also agree to much corporate welfare is no good. Maybe we should change that to if the company is American and 75% or better of it's employees and locations are in the USA they get the break multi nationals who put Americans out of work get taxed. Even up the import export market to provide a level playing field for example China charges extremely high duties on any American goods imported yet cheap Chinese goods are imported almost if not duty free thanks to Bush. Also I don't think anyone but American Citizens should be able to own property or businesses. I learned that from Mexico. In short I am totally for working taxpaying American citizens first. Then if we can and chose to help those less fortunate that should be our choice not that of a government that does not listen to the people.

You admit he hasn't done much? He's unproven? This is the guy you're going to vote for? Really?

Your Democratically controlled congress has done zero since taking control, list anything of significance they've done. In fact they have the absolute lowest public opinion rating in the history of the United States. You realize this right?

As far as me being better off, I've progressively made more money each year since Bush took office. I'm sorry you failed at doing so and you're bitter about it and want to blame someone else.

Yes I am, "really." And I can agree with you on democratic ineffectiveness. They should have impeached Bush and Cheney for their crimes against the constitution, as an example to future presidents, but sadly, they lack the cojones.

The democratic controlled congress the last two years has not been veto proof. Its 51-49 and the swing is Joe Lieberman (I-LIE).

Most pundits (and republicans) agree that dems will gain a substantial majority in both houses this election. That being said, How much do you think McCain will get done, being a minority president? The "do nothing congress" was unique because the republicans controlled the white house and both houses of congress, and look what they did.

I'm am glad for you that you are making good money. I'm sure you worked hard for it, and didn't ditch your wife and marry it. I am not bitter. Life is too short to be bitter or angry. If I have any anger at all, its over what the republicans have done to my constitution, my rights, and my childrens future.

Because I make less than $250,000 per year, I will support the Obama tax plan, as I (and other middle class people making less than 250K) do much better under his proposed tax structure, than under the corporate welfare plan of the McCain platform.

Mostly I am happy, and take joy in pointing out the absurdities in ridiculous talking points.

And read Vincent Bugliosi's book. It makes a compelling case for the prosecution of George Bush for murder.

And by the way, Clinton was impeached for perjury, obstruction of justice and abuse of power but you knew that right?

The above is accurate however, the republicans got on their high horses and still impeached a man for oral sex. Had they not pursued the oral sex charge Clinton wouldn't have lied or obstructed evidence. As far as abuse of power, if you look hard enough, every congressman, senator and president that ever served would be guilty of that.

If the democrats weren't the wimps that they are and started an impeachment process of their own, I'm positive you would see perjury, obstruction of justice, and without a doubt abuse of power from this administration.

It amazes me how a BJ got a man impeached, but the deeds of Bush and Cheney go unanswered. This administration led us into a war with lies. They call it faulty intelligence, but it was what they wanted to hear intelligence. Bill Clinton lied and caused the death of thousands of sperm. Bush lies and causes thousands of dead and wounded American soldiers, claiming "Mission Accomplished," and he gets a free pass. How stupid are we?

And now the republicans may actually place another candidate into office whose policies are very similar to Bush 43. ????
