Energy, mankind and bugs
Editor:

In the not-so-distant future, the last drop of oil will pumped out of the ground. People will be starving because our crops are being used to propel our vehicles and heat our homes.

Water, water everywhere, but not a drop to burn because we did nothing to develop the process of hydrogen fuel.
The wind is still blowing and yet there are no wind farms.
We are cutting down trees at an enormous rate to heat our homes and now the EPA and all the tree huggers say no to that because we are polluting the atmosphere and eliminating the habitat of the Northeastern Salivating Stink Bug.

We have nearly become an extinct species.

The critters we sought to protect have now taken over and in the next million years, or so, they will have become the dominant species.

The spotted owl now has a wingspan of over ten feet and the desert lizards have learned to walk upright and are now over twelve feet tall.

Roaches the size of Volkswagens dominate the forest floors and clean up the landscape. Once the job of illegal immigrants, these critters do it for nothing.

Humankind, or what is left of it, is still debating about what to do regarding an energy policy while sitting around a campfire beating drums!

All the while, the giant lizards, and other predators, are sitting in the background trying to decide if we might be good to eat.

That is their energy policy!

It just might work better than ours . . .
