A stupid idea.
What would have happened if a student became so distraught, the student either committed suicide or killed other people out of depression?
Remember the girl who committed suicide after learning one of her online friends broke up with her and it was all just a big joke?
Why don't you just put the kids into a car with a real drunk driver just to let them see what happens?
Stupid b/s.

That has lawsuit written all over it.
I understand the intentions, but with lawsuits being what they are today, staging fake deaths to scare people shouldn't be done. Also, did that stunt help make students think about drinking and driving, or did it just give them something to be angry about?
Does anybody remember the program on television called Scared Straight?
It sent me a message.
After getting permission from the parents, and if the student wishes to participate, why not have a program similar to Scared Straight in which students see pictures and movies of what drinking and driving does. Show ALL the graphic details. Don't hold anything back. Let the students see the true reality of what could and does happen. Also, have people who were directly affected by drunk driving help with the program. Teenagers feel indestructible. They need to participate in a program that gets them to realize that death has no age restrictions.

Teachers: "Your friends are dead"
Students: "OH my god, this is terrible."
Teachers: "Just kidding they're okay we were trying to teach everyone a lesson"
Students: "Damn, now I need a cold beer after that fiasco"
