In what is a historic moment, a white person is to be award valedictorian at a traditionally all-black college Morehouse.

The interesting thing to note from the article at CNN is that some black student's comments and the valedictorian's response to those comments seem like the same comments we always hear, only the races are reversed. Seems the theme of racism knows no race exclusively.

I wish Mr. Packwoood well. I hope he's strong enough to enlighten his Wall Street coworkers on the benefits of diversity. I'd hate to see someone with such potential fall into the "it's better to go along to get along" lifestyle.

Thanks for the article, Eds.

Thanks folks.

We are firmly entrenched in camps on both sides. Past actions being what they are I can understand it. It's going to take time to bridge the gap. I have to say, that despite my political views, I would tend to think Obama has the best chance of improving race relations. Domestically he seems strong. At least I think so. Maybe I am wrong.
