Well, we got three cars this year....so far! What am I talking about? The ice patch that forms just below Hubbard Park across West Main St. Having live ' on the curve ' for several years now, every years we've had several wrecks from the frozen ice and a couple from just going to fast.
When is the town going to figure out how to take care of the water run off? Is it going to take someone getting killed?
Now there is a drain located where the water should drain to but the water decides to cross the road instead, and on freezing nights, there is an ice strip.

Thanks for the tip - that's a good one to file away in the old memory banks. Might be a problem tomorrow morning.

I know that one well. But not in a bad way.

There is one also near the Meriden dump just after the Wallingford line, coming into Meriden from Wallingford. They put up a guard rail, yellow, that has been banged up considerably, to prevent people from careening into the water treatment plant.

I was stranded during one storm earlier this year at the top of the hill just after Hubbard Park near the kiosk. Took about two hours to get everyone down; sanders went up the hill backwards.

Fixing the run-off issue would be great!

It doesn't help that people drive way too fast in the cold weather.

You've got that right about driving to fast. It's funny, in a way, we haven't had anyone killed on the curve but a bunch have just up the hill. Guess even the drunks know enough to slow down a bit on the curve but not the straight parts of West Main St.
