how is it that Northford was able to take down the building that burned only a few days after the fire and Meriden keeps the eye sore, and safety hazard on Old Colony Road?
Please, don't even say anything about money because the potential for someone gettting hurt there is very real and the cost of a law suit won't come close to loss of a life

I think the same thing because I drive by there often. The city HAS money in a demolition fund - they're using it to take down the old bowling alley on Grove Street. I don't know what the problem is here but it would make another great postcard (the burned out building)for my imaginary Meriden on the Move series.

I bet the are waiting until the owner pays for it. In a way, this is good since it wouldn't come out of town funds.

Well, for safety and aesthetics, they could tear it down with funds they have and then sue the owner for the demo costs and any legal fees involved as well.

glad to see the building has been taken down and more importantly, no one was hurt
