What is your most important campaign issue this election year out of the top 4 topics? *Note: people may feel that other issues are more important, please post them, but the poll is only for the top four issues that have been brought up time and time again.* I look forward to hearing and seeing people's responses.

For me, it has to be healthcare. My son is working two jobs, 80 plus hours per week and he can't get insurance. He has tried to buy it on his own and the prices are almost $600.00 per month.

I can't complain, I have good healthcare, but I work for the State of CT. I would love for him ( my son ) to be able to buy into my health plan, but the state says no.

I hope whoever is President, Sen Clinton or Sen. Obama, that they will make that the NUMBER 1 issue. Our children can't afford medicine, doctors or to be sick. It's crazy that the most modern country in the world doesn't take care of it's people.

healthcare is number one for me. Clinton seems to have a better plan than Obama. I think Obama is to subservient to the insurance companies. He doesn't seem passionate enough on this issue. I think he's a little talk and no action. If he is elected president I think nothing will happen with healthcare and many people without insurance will continue to be treated like second class citizens.

I have to say that I agree with you guys that Health Care is EXTREMELY important since I am almost without Health Care myself. I also know the value of a dollar, and until that starts going back up, and work on a lot of the economic issues in our country health insurance costs will continue to go up, and the value of the dollar will go down, making it impossible to afford anything let alone health insurance. Thank you so much for your input, and if the economy were in better shape, then I would easily say Health Insurance is the biggest issue out there right now. All though if we stopped pumping money into Iraq, and put that money into our own country, we might not be having any of these problems. Interesting food for thought.

I'll agree with health care for the sake of argument but will the Hillary supporters please elaborate on their support of mandatory health insurance. From what I understand, Hillary Clinton advocates health insurance that will be mandatory, as in Massachusetts now. Mandatory in the sense that an uninsured taxpayer will be fined, perhaps as high as two thousand dollars a year, if they do not "comply" and obtain health insurance. I asked that question in other post and the universal health care Hillary supporters did not reply. That will be an issue as the universal health care cause proceeds forward in CT this year with a lot of Democratic legislative support. And please don't think I am oppposed to the concept of universal health care; I was active in local efforts through meetings, rallies last year and having learned about the fines in Massachusetts I was less than thrilled, to put it mildly. I would like to see affordable heath care and insurance available and think most people would like the same. However, I am not willing to have someone fine me because I opt to pay for heat, electricity, food, tuition, transportation, house taxes, etc.. rather than some expensive health insurance. And Romney the Republican enacted the mandatory Massacusetts plan so I personally think we had better all really scrutinize these health care ideas and politicians and dig beneath the empty rhetoric for the real implications.

Exactly why I do not think Clinton healthcare is good for me. I've gone without healthcare before and I would again opting to pay out-of-pocket just so I would not have to have Hillarycare. Cheaper on my own.

McCain at least wishes to limit punitive damages. Punitive damages are the biggest cost in health care due to high insurance premiums for malpractice insurance. That plan will lower costs of healthcare, not just simply paying for them with tax dollars or force healthcare. That is real health care reform.
