It's interesting to follow this issue in Cheshire. The commission chairman was quoted saying that he felt more comfortable with his children shopping in the north end of Cheshire than in Meriden or Waterbury. What does that mean????

I interpret that as meaning Cheshire is "safe." He can have it. Route 10 is an absolute nightmare for those of us, I guess he considers us dangerous riffraff, from Meriden who venture in to Cheshire. Face it, there is such a thing as white flight and cultural incompetence and although the man's comments are not blatant, it's comments like that that make an interracial couple uncomfortable driving through Cheshire. The odds of racial profiling are higher, as well as nasty looks, etc...

There is something rotten in townhall. How these people can OK the W/S Development project is beyond me. The council members who OK'd this must have gotten some kind of a pay off to let these people come in here and threaten our way of life. More threat of pollution of our water, higher taxes because of the increased services and population, more traffic are the top reasons to say NO to this project. If the voting out of some of the planning and zoning members in November isn't enough to show the remaining members of the council that the voters don't want this, then they are going to continue to make money off our misery. The council members are not supposed to have contact with any developer, but many voters know that there are many clandestine meetings between scummy politicians and lying developers. People of Cheshire, speak up and stop this madness.

W/S development wants to put the project on hold until the economy gets better. The question should be is this needed? Many of the shops have pulled out. It will cause more traffic on Rt. 10 and will change the look of Cheshire, because other developers will come in thinking that if they dangle a carrot in front of the noses of the Zoning Commission that they will get special consideration too.

If Cheshire could get away with it, they would put a moat around it with border guards. It must drive them crazy to have such a high minority population, even if they are behind bars.

It is so funny that when some people in Cheshire talk about black people, they use words like dangerous, drug dealers, untrustworthy, etc. That is why some people want this "living center" because it will be upscale and will keep those undesirables out, or so they think. There are many black families who will visit this shopping center also, but certain people in Cheshire are too ignorant to know that to be true.

Cheshire residents are upset about the prison - but not because of the color of the people in them. There's been some disagreement between the town and the state whether the state is paying it's fair shair for services used, mainly sewage, by the prison.

I remember an article in the local paper a few years back saying that there are very few black and hispanics in Cheshire, They made it sound like it was a good thing.

People who live in their Cheshire castles think that blacks and Mexicans are just waiting to jump them if they go to a city. Yeah, those Mexicans can jump you at anytime. Must be the beans. The good thing with beans is you can smell them when they get close.

I got attacked in Nueva Wallingford the other day at a Mexican eatery......Montezuma's revenge..... as soon as I got in my car the assault began. I was like "Speedy Gonzalez" heading to a Murdin banyo.
