View Full Version : The Rainbow Man

With seven colours above his head
And clothing stitched from golden thread
Our Rainbow Man begins to shine
And as he comes back down to earth
We worship around his golden birth
The Rainbow Man becomes divine.
*
We rejoice and start to sing
The Rainbow Man becomes our king
He pulls the sword out of the stone
And as we sit our ruler down
We forge for him a golden crown
He is now seated on his thrown.
*
The Rainbow Man’s first act in charge
To lead ten thousand on a march
We go to war with those that sin
As we burn witches on the stake
We meet high priests with a handshake -
paper cups and sips of gin.
*
The Rainbow Man no longer blessed
He fills our streets with blight and pest
Our honest men no longer free
And as he sits there on his throne
I start to ponder on my own
What happened to democracy?
*
They overthrow our Rainbow Man
Strike down upon us, a firm hand
We have another golden Son
No, another War Lord at our throne
He takes our fortunes for his own
Will this process ever be undone?
