I'm writing a non-fiction article for school about young adults still living with their parents.
I would appreciate anyone's input on this subject...If you have a few minutes, I would love to hear about your experiences, or perhaps your grown children's experiences. I am looking for the age you moved out of your parents house, reasons you left early or later, and especially any financial reasons that affected your decisions.
If your interested in participating, please do do. You can write me a private message if you don't wish to post publically. Thanks!

Here are some of my experiences of living with my widowed Mother ; helping toclean the house which is not unmascluline , or dorky ,but totally fly .Ding off jobs around the house inside/out such as reseeding the lawn , mowing the lawn, and my neighbors , removing water from the garage after a storm , cooking a meal or two , and many others more of which will be added later on .

After graduating from college, my daughter returned to live with us for one year, and I found it to be a nice time in our relationship. She was extremely busy with a job, boyfriend and socializing so we didn't miss our "empty nest". It was nice to get to know her as an adult and I believe that she enjoyed the new adult relationship that we developed. If she had stayed home longer than a year, she probably would have had some difficulty. I also know many other people our age who have adult children living with them. In most cases it is positive although the parents talk about looking forward to their child becoming more independent. Boys seem to be more likely to remain at home. Of course, it depends upon employment opportunities for the kids and financial stability for the parents. Good luck on your work!
