Steppingstones to Heaven

Man was born amidst darkness
With nature girdling
He must acquire the light from reconciliation
Whilst suffering a divine creation
His life is but a day in eternity.
With little jurisdiction
He is but a droplet in the ocean
Riddled by counterfeit devotion.
The self proclaimed wise man knows nil
Looking towards a fool for hope
He’ll fail to resist temptation
As he levels a high rising nation.
True beliefs are as much action as word
His actions already sacrificed
Condemning his soul to be eternally tainted
And his once pure heart to be darkly painted.
To obtain strength, he must first control thought
Admit only human desires
Knowing they lure the evil not the good
Only then, will he achieve his sainthood.
The power of Man is no divine right
And to earn his passage to heaven
He shall follow steppingstones to a Lost Horizon
Diverting his mind from humanly treason.
