This provides more of an opportunity to patrol the area and collect fines for violators. I try to hike there at least 2x a week and every time I have been there, there is a violation occurring. This is 100% of the time with most violations occurring 3 to 5 pm.
Dogs off leashes.
Dogs crapping next to the reservoir and on the trail (some of these dogs must eat beefareeno).
Dogs bathing in the water.
There is a large sign posted for dogs to be on the leashes at all times and not to go in the water. There is a small 8-1/2 x 11 paper on the board stating the fines.
Meriden you have made the laws and stated the fines; now it is time to do as I say and enforce them. Have some integrity why don’t you.
A lot of us nature hikers are tired of stepping into crap and having wet disgustingly smelly dogs jump all over us; we are doing somthing legal while these careless dog owners are doing something illegal.
