Hello...

Happy New year....

Cytec must still be going ahead with plans to send it's water discharge
to the City Treatment Plant as they are looking into the... possibility of
"hot alcohol washing" their production centerfuges to decrease the resin
going to the discharge drains.

This will have one of three outcomes.

#1. It works... and reduces the hazardous waste goint out to the town

#2. It will not work.

#3. The Wallingford Plant will explode and blame it on Terrorists.... to
evade all the wrongful death lawsuits.

Hello, Bill Carson 436, we just wanted to know is Cytec going to have a new round of layoffs? We also heard there are less than 200 people working there now? If that’s the case, we don’t think Cytec will be around in 10 years. Then again they have been saying that for 40+ years now too.;)

Hello...

There are a few layoffs scheduled to happen due to downsizing in the
Lab. An Automated process due to be installed in the summer is also
designed to eliminate a few jobs. There is even an upcoming " Time -
Study " about to start which is Managements way of job cutting.

So...layoffs ...yes... in Production...slow and timed. Nothing MAJOR
due to the fact that that our numbers are pretty scant in each Dept.

Salary is always tight lipped.... a management culture I suppose.

They are already spreadout pretty thin.

Cytec makes no bones about what it wants... a LEAN workforce.

As for the 10 years... hard to tell.

They could close it down tomorrow and blame it on Energy costs

I'm planning to escape in a few years ( retire ) let's hope they
don't spill something bad...emmit something fowl... or just fail
us and Mis -Manage it into an early grave.

PS... on the other hand... lay-offs mean MORE overtime. Those
who remain are loving it !!!!! $100,000.00 a year for unskilled
labor... Some of these people sleep in their cars in the parking
lot to kill a 4 hour break between shifts..watch out for them on
the roads...lol

Feel free to E-Mail me in the future... this forum is not the best place
paint a picture of Cyte Industries.

End of thread...lol

Sick of Cytec bashers, any factory produces large amounts of waste and MOST of the people who are bashed are from Wallingford. They need those jobs my family need those jobs some are still there, went through one round of lay offs may face another as now only building 6 and another building are open, building 10 was sold to someone else so even if Cytec closes that building remains open and the Waste Water Treatment Plant is still there.
Cant tell Im a Cytec brat can you?? Norman Deming was my grandfather, Mark Deming is my dad, Marion Lovely is My grandmother, Matt Tewksbury is my Uncle, Alan Lovely is my cousin, I consider Joey the Cuban, Ed Costa, Randy, Henry Brown and many others my family, I grew up with them, We go to eachothers weddings and family events and unfortunately some wakes and funerals and I love all of them, they mean alot to me so to bash Cytec is to bash them and so many more I havent listed. Only true bad thing is they took away the perks like Picnics and being able to invite however many you wanted too. Tc everyone love light and blessings

Hello...

I don't see what is posted as...Cytec bashing ?

If that was the point of this thread, I could write a book on it.

I'd start... with whats going on with our Pensions and the " union "
response...lol

I don't bash... I endure.
