Hey Wine Guy (or anyone else), Any good recommendations for a good red wine for a prime rib roast? Are there any good chiantis (sp?). Enjoy the holidays!

I recently tried a 2005 Chianti Villa Fortunato by Cantine Gini, Cenaia Italy. Very light, medium bodied, very dry. Crisp and clean and uncomplicated.

You could also try a 2006 Monferrato Pinot Noir from Monte Degli Angeli Mombaruzzo Italy. Its a fairly dry wine, rich and full-bodied, nice legs, with notes of blackberry.

Every try a really oaky chard with beef? Sometimes the only thing good about the "old food rules and pairings" is that there are exceptions and the rules can be broken.

You are right...each to their own.

 Not sure why I am responding to this... The “Holidays” are still 3 minutes away...
But I like wine and this Post was about “wine”...
So...
Chardonnay with beef...
That doesn’t work for me... Need something Red... and usually “big”.

But it’s Summer and I just found a new White wine that I really like!
The grape is Torrontes and it is a premier grape in Argentina.
And FWIW... I LOVE breaking “Wine Rules”!
