A group of people sitting 'round
observe an object, near,
They try to tell of what they see
but do not make it clear,
The first one says the thing is blue,
the second says, no, green,
The others are not really sure
just what their eyes have seen,
I think it's oval, someone says,
no, round it looks to me,
You're both wrong comes from other folk,
we wish to disagree,
It's kind of tall, no, rather short,
I think it's medium,
It's sort of shiny, no it's dull,
no, no it's neither one,
So if you have a hundred folk
describe the thing to you,
You'll only find out what was seen
from each one's point of view.
