While busy with my daily chores
A fragrance drifts from out of doors,
Out of the past,
It doesn't last,
But briefly Mom was here.
As I am sitting quietly
A gentle sound embraces me,
It's quickly gone,
I'm all alone,
But I felt Dad was near.
A journey down a country lane,
I'm in my childhood once again,
A short review
Of what I knew
Then, puff, it disappears.
Brief glimpses of the past I see,
And always unexpectedly,
I know not why,
but glad am I,
For memories are dear.
