Senior Center floor plans: Wallingford vs. Meriden

The Wallingford Senior Fair was held the weekend of Oct. 20, which was wonderful, beautiful, and lots of fun. In the centerfold of the advertising flyer was a floor plan of their senior center. It had all the rooms on one floor, easy access and easy parking. Why can’t Meriden have one like that? Did any Meriden officials even notice it?

My memory is not that great but the Meriden Senior Citizen Center isn't all that old, is it? Twenty years old? It would be interesting to research the vertical file in the Meriden Library for dates and peruse the microfilm for local newspaper coverage at the time it was built. Did seniors and their advocates gripe at the time that the layout and parking were inappropriate? Assuming I'm right and the building is only twenty years old, how will the city pay for a new one?
