We have a girl at our complex who constantly pulls next to the building with extremly loud music (bass). Its disturbing to me, but what is sad is that she's got her newborn in the car.

Is this fair to the young baby to be subject to the lous music and not have a chance to grow up with normal ears. Im wondering if this is a form of child abuse.

Any opinions.

She was warming up her car for 20 mins this morning 5:45 to 6:05 with the music on so I just filed a formal complaint. Maybe a call to DCYS or the PD next ?

This is how those people end up perpetuating a long chain of problems.

Ignorance can kill. This person is causing an obvious trauma to young ears. The child will grow up and be unable to hear properly in school. The child will not learn properly. Then child will be unable to maintain good grades. The lack of good grades will affect that child for the rest of it's life. And the mother will have no idea why her child cannot hear.

Parents affect their child not just by the example they set, but by their behaviors as well. Parents affect their child in more ways than they know.

Good for you. Get the plate and report her routine. Have a police officer there in the morning to watch. At least you are doing something. Thanks!

Boy did you ever hit the roots to maybe a lot of our problems in that response Eds. I'll keep on top of it.

Thanks for the support. I put a letter in managements mailbox this morning. Hopefully we'll get some resurrection of the issue. Police do want us to go thru management first; so I'm using the chain of command.

Well management just called and are going to contact her and if things are not straightened or retalliation occurs out the police will be notified.

Nice to have a quick response.

This is all to common a problem. I once asked someone what made them think that the whole neighborhood wanted to hear their music… The response was “What makes you think I care?” In your case Chris the person SHOULD care! For the reasons stated by eds and for the simple fact that it is rude and annoying to other people. Parents today….
Well… THAT is a whole other Vent Forum….
I hope the problem is resolved without escalation.

Yes me too Wine Guys.

I got an awful look from the girl today as she parks 10 ft from my bottom floor porch. I also found out the manager asked her if she has her baby in the car when playing loud music. She also has a boyfreind who may have moved in after she settled in (2 months now) and if so, he needs a criminal/background check (management will monitor that also). Time for me to move outta here when my lease expires in June.

We had another incident were this girls movein boyfreind was out side my porch at 12:30 am talking with his visitors and once again starting his car with loud music Saturday.

I called management yesterday and told them to keep an eye on the car as the guy is now probably a permanent fixture here and needs to undergoe a background check.

What I suggested and what management did yesterday is send letters out to all tenants (mentioning numerous noise complaints) asking them to keep the noise down and be respectful of others.

This couple though does give me bad looks everytime they see me though and its time I move on as soon as my lease expires.
